Blackpool Cleaning and Protection

In November 2008 Magic Cote and Magic Cote Cleaning carried out a trial next to Blackpool Tower using restoration and protection products to restore and then protect the paving. Blackpool Council thought the results were impressive so Magic Cote and Magic Cote cleaning were contracted to restore and then protect 12,000m2 of Blackpool’s town centre.

The decision was taken because after only 5 years Blackpool’s town centre’s heavily trafficked blocks had become seriously polluted with chewing gum, stains, algae and atmospheric carbon particulates. The stones were dull and regular cleaning methods were no longer doing the job. An unfortunate possibility was renovating the town centre after only 5 years with a massive cost of £650,000.

However, Magic Cote was able to offer its restoration and protection service at a total cost of £100,000 – this included deep cleaning, restoration products, protection products and re-sanding by Magic Cote Cleaning UK Ltd.,  and replacement of damaged blocks by Blackpool Council’s workforce.
